I am getting Error short Dump, when I am compressing Cube for inventory (IC_C03) for datasource 2LIS_03_BF and there is no aggregates for cube..
As I am checked in ST22 tcode its showing as(MESSAGE_TYPE_X) error it is showing.

We recently upgraded BW from 7.02 to 7.3. After doing this some MDX coming from BPC stopped working. I investigated and found out about the MDXTEST transaction. I have experience writing MDX for the Microsoft Analysis Services platform.
It seems that I can't get any MDX to run that defines and uses a calculated member (with clause).
This will run:
SELECT [Measures].[/CPMB/SDATA] ON COLUMNS
,[/CPMB/K6DBJTB].Members ON ROWS
FROM [$/CPMB/K6IXB3O]
This also runs:
WITH MEMBER Measures.Test AS '([Measures].[/CPMB/SDATA])'

This won't run:

Hi All,
I've created an RRI link to ECC Transaction FB03. The sender takes 0OCMP_CODE, 0REF_DOC_NR and 0FISCYEAR and works very, very well with ECC transaction FB03.
Currently the three InfoObjects must be used as Rows in the query for the RRI to work. Unfortnately, I currently have 0REF_DOC_NR and 0FISCYEAR maintained as Free Characteristics.
Is it possible to use an RRI link to ECC based on Free Characteristics, or is it a case of having to place the Free Characteristics into the report each time I want to use the Jump-to function?

Please let me know the steps to be followed for the requirement.
1. ADD New infobject “ZLOC - location” as an attribute of exisitng infoobject “Zstate"
2. Maintain the Zstate and ZLOC based on the mapping below. ---??????
3. Use new info object “ZLOC” as a navigational attribute in reports where “Zstate” characteristic is
used.

i didnt get any datasource so i ll do flat file loading....else should i go for hierarchy
I am confused how to map these to the existing data in infobject -Zstate.

I have studied this document:
We need to delete each month at the 6th working day all records of the last working day of the previous month.
Thereafter we will have to reload the last working day of the previous month again.
This means there are 2 steps to do:
1. step:
create program as described in the link above; this z-program will be used in process chain variant.
2. step:
ABAP variable in infopackage which will reload the last working day of previous month.
Do you have the correct coding samples for both steps available?

Is there a simple way to load an XML file into SAP BW 7.3 via the standard file source system or do I now need to use BODS or some other connector or source system type?
I recall this used to be possible in BW 3.5 with some extra functionality in the infosource.

Currently our system is in BI 7 version but we did not switch to analysis authorizations yet and still with Role based authorizations till now.
But we got a sudden requirement of migrating to analysis authorizations in one month time span. We need to know the process for migration and the pre-requisites and mostly the impact on existing roles and access tousers.
We have around 300 roles that are given access to users with atleast one BW object like S_RS_COMp and 5000 users have this access in poduction.
Kindly guide and suggest the possible ways and please help me to understand how migration goes and step by step guide.

I need some information where i can see what kind of processing type is used in variables.
In my case there is a selection, In that selection keyfigure has been restricted to a characteristic and there is a variable for that characteristic.
I am unable to understand what kind of processing type is used for that variable. When I double click on that variable its now showing any thing.

I am trying to load 0ACCOUNT hierarchy master data from ECC to BW, using standard data sources. The process is in place in Production and was running fine until couple of days back. All of a sudden, the daily master data load doesn't bring in new accounts added to hierarchy in ECC.
The user responsible for adding and updating new accounts to hierarchy has checked on the ECC, and I have seen the ECC screen. The new accounts are correctly placed in correct hierarchy on ECC side.
I have checked and tried couple of things. The Attr and Text are coming through fine, only hierarchy is not getting updated on BW side. I tried to replicate Metadata for the data source on BW side, I have manually run the DTPs, but still no success.
I will really appreciate your help on this.

Hello, I am working on writing a user exit. it is very complex and want to get an idea from you. i have 5 tables that i need to look in and find to see if a certain field is populated. so it goes like this:
go into table numebr 1 and find if field is populated then populate my custom field in my datasource but if it is not populated then go in to the next table and so on.
how can i achieve this task? i don't think a simple if else will work. i tried it but syntax keep giving me problems.

My delta update had failed on 20th of feb. After that I set my request to red in PSA and in one data target but did not set it to red in the other target that is why I missed 8 days delta records.Now I will have to do a repair full update.For that how do I find out the missing records of 2lis_17_ionotif ?

Hello, I have a requirement to populate SOBKZ. this is like a flag which tells the user how a material is assigned common stock, client stock, project stock etc. etc. I need to bring this in BW. I am thinking to write a user exit and populate 0MAT_ST_LOC. would this be ok? also, when the stock changes will it also trigger delta?

I would need your help in a project that i am working on.... I am working on material classification that would have both single and multiple values,most of values are open and can be added at anytime that means we would need delta because we are always going to get changes .... My work around would be to create a generic datasource using extraction function module instead of using the traditional CTBW because one because of delta and multiple values...I have researched and i see a lot of people said they used Function module but now my question is how did they make they characteristics names that was supposed to be extended in the generated datasource as a field in there generic datasource? How was the field coded in there function module ? Can anybody send me steps on how you used Generic datasource extraction function module to include characteristics names as field and how you combined that with RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE,BAPI_OBJCL_GETDETAIL BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE and also how you got multiples values in BW? what is the difference between them and which tables are they coming from?
help.sap only says stock tables but it doesnt specify which tables. how can i find out?

We are planning to upgrade from BI 7.1 to 7.4 (SP5), We have more then 30+ data flow which are still in 3.x.
Along with technical upgrade, we are going to do functional upgrade too (only for few flows, and rest important flows would on sill on 3.x)
My questions here are
1. Does 7.4 (SP5) definitely runs 3.x data flows without any issue?
2. What's the minimum GUI requirement for 7.4 (SP5).
