Hi BW Experts,
I am going through a complex scenario and need help and solution or the best approach to solve this issue.
We have a main office in US and another branch office in Canada.
BW is handled through US location but both offices share the same BW system, same Multiproviders, cubes and BEx queries to pull their reports and customize it according to their business need based on geographic and sales team requirements.
Both locations share the same product hierarchy with exception to some products which is geographically different from each other, Users pull objects from the report for ad-hoc analysis according to their requirement.
Recently Canada want change in the hierarchy which is suitable to to their business practices and according to the users needFor Example...
Wehave Product Category called "SNACKS" which is treated as a Business Unit in USA but Canada doesn't consider it as Business Unit, instead they treat Snacks under the different category called "Convenience"
Also one of another Business Unit in US is called "Morning Foods" and under this Business Unit we have Ingredients & Toaster Pastries as a category BUT for Canada we want Ingredients and Toaster Pastries under Convenience unlike under Morning Foods in USA.
Also note that "SALTY SNACKS" is another Category under Snacks Business Unit in US hierarchy but we want SALTY SNACKS as separate category under Convenience in Canada exactly like Snacks(please see an attachment for better understanding)
I don't think we can change theHierarchyin ECC6.0 as our hierarchies are perfectly fine for US and if we try to change according to Canadian requirement, it will have impact on US business and will mess up everything. It is like Win-Lose situation.
Now since I mentioned above that both locations share same MP, cubes & reports, I was thinking to create another Product Hierarchy in BW separately for Canada specific and use that Hierarchy for Canadian users in the reporting, please advise if this is even possible
I know it is not as easy as I am writing here but there must be some kind of solution.
I am going to attached a scenario file here for better understanding of the issue, please do read the notes I inserted on "Required (To-Be) scenario for Canada".
I will appreciate if you suggest me any possible solution to approach this problem, please let me know if you have any question so I can explain it further.
