Records are missing if I use navigational attributes in a query

Hello Gurus,

 

I am facing an issue in one BEx report with the navigational attributes in a DSO (call it A). This DSO (A) holds material information & Nav Attr are turned on at DSO level. The source for this DSO is an Infoset (Infoset is based on 3 InfoObjects).

 

Issue:

For example When I query it based on DSO A & if I include only material in the query I get 200records. Once I include the navigational attributes of material i.e. Material Type, etc into the output the record count remains same in sandbox system but not in quality system. Around half of the records are missing in quality where as in sandbox the count remains same. I have verified the material data and the missing data does exist in quality.

 

I wonder what could be the issue here. Any help is aprpeciated.

How to move Datasource from Unassigned Nodes

Hi Experts,

 

I have activated 3 master data sources (0Orgunit_Attr, 0Orgunit_Text, 0OrgUnit_HR01_Hier) from HCM for Info Object: 0OrgUnit. When i replicate these data sources in BW it moved to Unassigned Nodes. My question is can i move these data sources from Unassigned Nodes to any application component.

 

The second query is when i try to create transfer rules for 0OrgUnit Hierarchy i can not see the data source: 0OrgUnit_HR01_Hier.

 

Can any one explain why its happening like that or Is there any helping material i can follow?

Message Type_x dump in DTP level

Hi experts,

 

we have facing one dump in DTP level it comes Like Dump:Internal session Terminated with runtime error Message_Type_X(see ST22)

though even i am trying to analyze the dump by going into ST22 but i couldn't  becoz it is showing pure technically means in ABAP terms i called ABAP guy to debug dump but he told me it is basis issue.

 

i thought this might be some kernal or table space issue so i informed this to basis team they have replied back with suggestion like to implement some note but there suggestions is irrelevant to the issue

 

But somehow i am correcting corresponding DTP by reloading  or by following different techniques to correct it temporarily because i am part of monitoring it's very tedious job in some cases it will come at a time in all process chains so due to this chain will not end at scheduled time.

 

So can any one help me out to resolve this issue this permanently.

 

For your reference i am attaching dump file.

How to get new fields to Datasource...

Helli,

I have generic DS created on View. Now i have added few fields to the View. How do i get those new fields to Generic DS? do i have to append strecture? or since its Generic DS, whatever is there in the view, should come automatically to the DS ?

Local currency in the Sales InfoCube 0SD_C03 with use of the currency type (0CURTYPE)

Hi experts,

 

I have migrated the 3.x Dataflow of InfoCube 0SD_C03 (Sales Overview) into the 7.x Dataflow and modeling the Dataflow according to LSA Principles.

 

Now my Dataflow look like this:

 

1. Sales Document Header Level: DataSource 2LIS_11_VHDR -> InfoSource ZLIS_11_VHDR -> DSO ZSD_O01 -> InfoCube ZSD_C03 -> MultiProvider ZSD_M03

2. Sales Document Item Level: DataSource 2LIS_11_VAITM -> InfoSource ZLIS_11_VAITM -> DSO ZSD_O02 -> InfoCube ZSD_C03 -> MultiProvider ZSD_M03

3. ...

4. ...

5. ...

6. Billing Document Header Level: DataSource 2LIS_13_VDHDR -> InfoSource ZLIS_13_VDHDR -> DSO ZSD_O06 -> InfoCube ZSD_C03 -> MultiProvider ZSD_M03

7. Billing Docuemtn Item Level: DataSource 2LIS_13_VDITM -> InfoSource ZLIS_13_VDITM -> DSO ZSD_O07 -> InfoCube ZSD_C03 -> MultiProvider ZSD_M03

 

 

In the standard InfoCube 0SD_C03 all key figures are in statistical currency unit (in my scenario EUR).

 

Now in addition to the statistical currency, I would like to realize the currency translation in local currency (each company code/sales organization). I want to offer the character 0CURTYPE (currency type) to filter the data records in the BEx Query and differentiate between statistical currency (0CURTYPE = B0) and local currency (0CURTYPE = 10).

 

 

My advance considerations are:

 

1. account model -> Creating an second InfoCube (Copy of ZSD_C03) and add the characteristic 0CURTYPE to both InfoCubes and set a constant '10' and 'B0' each InfoCube. With the help of the MultiProvider as the source of the BEx Queries I can offer the selection between both curtypes.

 

2. account model -> Creating 7 rule groups (each DSO) in addition to the standard rule group between the 7 DSO´s and the InfoCube ZSD_C03 and add the characteristic 0CURTYPE each rule...

 

3. Further proposals to use the characteristic 0CURTYPE and the account model???   

 

I have found the following scn-thread http://scn.sap.com/thread/1757801

 

This scn-thread discusses the currency translation in the InfoCube 0SD_C03 with aid of the key figure model. But I want to use the characteristic 0CURTYPE to different between the boths currencies (local vs. statistical currency). So I want to use the account model.

 

 

Any ideas, experiences or best practices for my intentions?

SID issue when Bex Query is executed

Hi,

 

I am getting the following error when running a BEX query in analyzer.:

 

SID 34 for characteristic Zxxxxxx could not be converted CL_RSDM_READ_MASTER_DATA->_SIDVAL_DIRECT_READ2

Program error in class SAPMSSY1 method : UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION

 

this query is based out of 0InfoObject MD and Zxxxxxxx is one of the attributes of 0InfoObject.

 

I have tried RSRV--> ran combined test for MD, all tests are green, but error is still there., adjusted the data base tables in se14 too...

 

Please help me out. The query is in QA and we are planning to move to prod after this--but cant because of this issue.

Error while activating 0BPARTNER infoobject

Hi,

 

     While trying to activate the infoobject 0BPARTNER, I'm facing the following error and because of this error, I'm not able to activate the infoobject:

Even I tried to delete the data from the infoobject by right clicking 0bpartner->delete master data.  It's not allowing to delete the data, getting error message.

 

The following is the error message I'm getting while activating infoobject 0bpartner.

 

Characteristic 0BPARTNER: Error when specifying new SIDS for attributes

 

Value "1 Utkarsh flat vasna Bareje Road " (HEX 31002000550074006B006100720073006800200066006C0061) of characteristic 0STREET60 contains an error at position 33

Message no. BRAIN315

Diagnosis

Characters that have a hexadecimal display between HEX00 and HEX1F are not permitted in characteristic values. The character at position 33 is one of these characters. The value is therefore not permitted.

Note that these characters cannot be displayed and are therefore displayed as #. The actual character # has the hexadecimal display HEX23.

Procedure

Check the origin of the characteristic value. If possible, change it in the source. Incorrect source text in update routines and transfer routines can also cause this problem.

 

Value '!54 U.E' (hex. '210035003400200055002E004500') of characteristic 0STREET60 contains invalid characters

Enhance IC FIAR: Line Item 0FIAR_C03 and FIAR: Transaction Data 0FIAR_C02

Hi everyone,

 

Our client requirements are to analyse a set of Key figure on many dimensions, Below an example of KF:

 

Key figures:

- Overdue amount 0-30 days

-Overdue amount 31-60 days

-Overdue amount > 60 days

-DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)

 

Dimension:

-Time (Days, week, fortnight, month, semester, year)

-Customer region

-Customer location

-Company code

-Distribution channel

-Sales organisation

-Division

-Sales office

-Sales employ

-Shipping point

-Material group

-Material

 

The infoCubes Line Item 0FIAR_C03 and FIAR: Transaction Data 0FIAR_C02 contains all key figures required, but just few dimensions: Customer region, customer location, company code.

 

I m wondering how can I proced to modify these cube to meet our needs!

 

I need to add all above dimensions to these cubes.

 

Any suggestion would be helpful.

SAP BI 7.0 to BW 7.3 upgrade

Hi,

 

We are in the process of upgrading our BI 7.0 system to BW 7.3. Our plan is to take a copy of the existing BI 7.0 system to to new system and perform upgrade in the new system, so as not to affect the ongoing activities.

 

First, dev BI is copied to new system and new system is upgraded to 7.3 and so on to PRD BI system. In this approach we are concerned about the production system down time of ECC.

 

Can anyone share your experience in upgrade projects from BI 7.0 to BW 7.3.

 

I went across the documents and threads posted in SCN but could not find any.

Bex Report giving # values. Correct data is present in cube; but Multiprovider is not showing that data.

We have a Multiprovider with one cube and two dso's. We have added an InfoObject (which already existed in the cube) to Multiprovider. Proper assignment has been done. Also the infoobject is added to Bex Query [included in free characteristic].

 

We are able to see the data in the cube for that infoobject but in multiprovider the filed does not contain any data. It is blank for all records. When running the Bex Query, upon drill down only # value is being displayed for that field for all records.

Gathering all data packets in start routine

Hi All,

 

Refering to post - http://scn.sap.com/thryead/247733,  I am trying to gather all packets in start routine, but it's not working. When debugged, the value of G_S_OBJECT-DATAPAKID is always zero, which is causing issues.

 

Any pointers will be much appreciated.

Problem with the workbook

Hi,


I have a workbook that when I refresh it starts another query. It says in the status bar "SAP BEx: Jumping to target of type Saved Views", However, the original workbook has no query inserted in. How do I remove this link?

Morethan one text specified for hierarchy header for language EN

Error occured in herarchy

Error in substep

Data Package processing terminated

ASSERTION_FAILED When Activation of Transformation

Hi All,

 

When we are trying to activate the transformation (DSO - Cube) a dump with Runtime  Error "ASSERTION_FAILED" is coming.

 

We have used nearly 40 routines and 7 group rules in this Transformation

 

I have searched the error and followed the suggestions from other threads, still it has not helped us to resolve problem.

 

We have implemented SAP Notes 998730 and 1006658 and followed the instructions like deleting the error records from table RSTRANRULE.

 

Still we are facing the problem.

 

We are on SP11 (BI NW2004S).

 

please help us with a solution.

Delta update is remove from ds 0FI_AP_4

Dear experts,

 

I have a question regarding datasource 0FI_AP_4. Previously, my basis team implement support package 12 and 13 to our SAP BW 7.01. Then the sp change the datasource 0FI_AP_4 delta infopackage by removing it in the update option list. Therefore the only infopackage update type exist in full update and initialization (with and without data transfer). (Refer attachment).

 

My question is, do this impact the performance of the BW system? and second is, do SAP release sap note on this changes? If experts have a link about this, kindly share with me. Thank you very much.
