Failed to retrieve the cube for connection

Hi,

We have upgraded our BW system to 7.4 on HANA. We currenlty facing an issue with Webi. When I execute a Bex query in Webi, I get the message 'Failed to retrieve the cube for connection'. Also on the BW side a short dump is triggerd: CALL_FUNCTION_ILLEGAL_P_TYPE.

In the short dump there is a link to OSS note 611004, but this does not make any sense to me.

When I test the connection in the Information Design Tool, everything is fine.

 

We are currently on BO version 4.1 SP4 and BW 7.4 SP10.

 

Does someone experience the same issue?

Info Object data deletion Runtime error - IWP_DELETE_IOBJ_DATA_BY_ATTR

Hello,

 

BI Info objects data deletion using function module - IWP_DELETE_IOBJ_DATA_BY_ATTR, returns runntime time error.

 

If the Info object have Componding object - FM returns runtime error. Object does't have Compunding object FM object data deletion step wrking fine.

 

Note: System newly migrated BI7.0 to BI7.4(HANA). Function moduled worked fine in BI7.0 version.

Problem with Upgrade Netweaver 7.40

Dear Experts and Fellow-users of SAP Netweaver 7.40,

 

since we upgraded to Netweaver 7.40 the Variable "Posting Period" is not working anymore.

 

We have a Bexx-Query pulling in the first column e.g. the data of the current quarter (Balance Sheet and P&L numbers as of 30th of June) and in the second column based on the selection in the first column the data from the previous quarter (which would be 31st of March).

 

For the 1st column the Posting Period is selected along with the Fiscal Year, Consolidation Group, Version and Fiscal Year Variant.

For the 2nd column we are using the variable "Posting Period", where you can make a selection for the previous period you want to see via a drop down menu (selecting posting period "minus" -1, -2, -3 and so on).

 

Since the upgrade the Bexx-Query delivers in the 2nd column the same data (the current data of the selected posting period of the 1st column), so that the nunbers in both columns are identical.

 

We addressed this issue at first to our SEM-BCS consultants who said that they can reproduce the mistake, but do not find anything about it in the SAP comments or community. Meaning: We basically have to live with it OR to rebuild all our Bexx-Queries in a different way.

 

The company running our base support had implemented in the meantime 2 corrections, where they thought it might solve the prolbem:

2147059 Unposted values for fiscal year/period and filter on period

2153304 BW Query restriction (in list) leads to wrong SQL.


However, it did not solve the issue.

 

I would be really surprised, if we are the only ones having this issue?

 

Is anyone experiencing the same problem?

Have you got a solution to it?

 

I just cannot imagine that the solution to this problem has to be to rebuild all the Bexx-Queries in a different way to work around the problem!

 

Any feedback and solutions are very much appreciated.

incorrect start routine

HI expert，

   I create a transformation between ods and cube, and use start routines.In dev system ,the start routine like this:

"LOGSYS' is on right. But when i transport this transformation  to pro system, it becomes this:

"LOGSYS'  has moved to left. anyone can solve this problem？

DB Connect Source System Setup - ORA-12170: TNS:Connect timeout occurred

Hi Folks, I try to setup a new database as source system. TNSNAMES.ORA entry added and all done like in DEV system but right after entering the connection details and waiting for about a minute I get "System cannot be reached". When I check ST21/System Log I see ORA-12170 TNS Connect timeout occurred. I had my database admin take a look and he checked TNSNAMES.ORA in /oraclehome/    and also in the /usr/sap/...../profile/oracle look okay and he was able to connect from the database server with sqlplus and the same user (db connection details use) to the target database. So he concluded it is not a Oracle issue but an SAP issue -> wonderful especially as it is an Oracle issue as the error message suggests, right? Any ideas how to proceed? Optimization of BADI code to populate appended fields in data source?

Hi ,

 

I have written this ABAP code in BADI method to populate 2 fields which are appended in data source.

But this is taking 3-4 hours to load 2 million records.any suggestions if this code can be optimized further..

mathematical calculation in only one keyfigure between different months

Dear All,

 

I have to do mathematical calculation in only one keyfigure between different months

My scenario is :

 

There is a field called BalanceSheet for a perticular G/L is coming from ECC/BPC into BI cube.

Currently the data is coming like:

 

G/L               Jan2015     Feb2015     Mar2015

1003029            10          30               40

 

The value is cumulative in the coming month(i.e. the value has addition of prev. month's data also)

 

Now the requirement is user does not want the cumulative data. so the output should be like:

 

G/L               Jan2015     Feb2015     Mar2015

1003029            10          20               10

 

I have checked it with cell restriction but we would have to do it for required months so that cud not be dynamic.I have even tried with formula variable but it is the same case.

I have searched in google as well as SCN but no clues.

Kindly suggest.

Error when create Sales Order between deploy modified structure of MC11VA0ITM

In my situation,

18:10 my customer open t-code VA01 and input information (SO no.= 100000001)

18:15 I deploy modified structure of MC11VA0ITM (add new fields)

18:20 my customer save sales order and receive error message (Nosee error message)

18:20 In st22 -> Error when importing object "MC11VA0ITM_TAB".

 

Finaly SO no.= 100000001 is not in SAP Table and can't see in va03 or change log

 

My Question:

1. Between deploy modified structure of MC11VA0ITM, I should not created Sales Order, right ka?

2. Why thechangestructure affects creatingso document on SAP ?

How to load values from AUGDT to an attribute conditionally

Hi,

There’s need to load values from AUGDT to FACDOCNO__ZCLEAR_DT.

(ZCLEAR_DT is a copy of 0clear_date, FACDOCNO is a characteristic loaded with document numbers (BELNR), ZCLEAR_DT is an attribute of FACDOCNO).

 

Is there a way to use any formula for it assuming that:

- loading should function only if in a given record there is a value “X” against SAKNR

- an empty string mustn’t overwrite value that has already has been loaded).

 

Like this:

BELNR     SAKNR     AUGDT

     1               Y            aaa           should not be loaded

     1               X            bbb           should be loaded

     1               X            empty       should not be loaded

     1               X            ccc           should be loaded

Now we have cc value in FACDOCNO_ZCLEAR_DT

 

 

My idea is:

IF( NOT IS_INITIAL( AUGDT ) AND SAKNR = 'X' ), AUGDT, SKIP_RECORD( ) )  

 

But I’m not sure if IS_INITIAL should be used here. Does this check if loaded value is not empty ???

And I’m not sure if SKIP_RECORD will work OK. What exactly in this case that "skip" mean ?? I'm afraid of skipping record in facdocno after encountering the first empty value in the source table.

 

There are some post's on SCN on that topic but I found nothing to help me so far.

Delete DSO Change Logs in Process Chain not working in BW 7.40

Hi Everyone - We recently discovered that DSO change logs are not being deleted in the process chain we have that runs weekly.  We're not sure when this started but we upgraded to 7.4 in May.  I've looked at other discussions  on this, but nothing I have found helps us.

 

I've checked table RSTSODS to ensure that User Application = 'CHANGELOG'.  This is a 7.x DSO and manually deleting them from the manage screen -> Environment -> Delete Change Log Data does work, but this is not ideal. We ran program RSAR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY and there were no issues.

BEX Query as source to DSO

Hi ,

Am trying to use query as source to update DSO which has condition for one KF. when am creating transformation only this KF is visible but not all other KF. I removed this KF and tried to recreate but still am seeing this single KF . Not sure what  I am missing here, If anybody has idea please let me know.We are on BW 7.5 SP5.

Source System connection issue

Hi BW/BI Experts,

 

We are facing a peculiar issue in our development system. Some of the DataSources are pointing towards a old logical SAP R/3 source system, this system does not exist now. In place of it a new system came in. Now the problem is we are notable to perform any maintenance, enhancement activity on them. our Basis tried to perform BDLS but it went wrong  and all he Transformation went off in inactive mode and more over all the ABAP development also went off. So we have restored the system back to the previous state.

 

How ever now we have have to change the pointer for the Data Source from old source system to new.

Please suggest what should be the approach now.

Key figures with '0' values are getting into Infocube while loading a flat file

I am loading a flat file and noticing equal no. of rows getting into CUbe with '0' Key figure values.

 

Why is that happening? Any idea? Can I somehow avcoid it?

Hello All,
I seek suggestion & information on MBA with SAP BI as correspondence from University within India & outside India both. I tried searching on internet but could not possibly understand the pre-requisites mentioned. Also, are there in pre-requsites for applying and getting admission.

 

I would also like to know if there are any SAP BI programs run by any universities outside India like for a period of nearly 6 months or an year on correspondence.

Transports failure for DSO, Process chains etc

our system was fine until recently we were successfully able to import transports for BI objects ( DSO, Process chains etc). this is an APO system with BW7.02 level 10

 

now all the transports containing these objects fail and DDIC user gets locked in the target system with short dumps

 

" Error in remote call of destination  xxxTCLNT500- for process chain transports 

no authorization to log on as a trusted system L-RC=0  T-RC=2)  - short dumps for USER DDIC

 

 

for DSO we are getting failures for generate export datasource

 

 

 

is there a way to avoid this user DDIC as it should be used in 000 only .  but we are getting this in 500 client

Hi All,

 

In my project, every month end, we need to upload 100 flat files from my D drive to PSA.  For example i have a folder "APRIL_FILES". Under this folder, i have kept 100 CSV files. Can you please provide me a sample code to pick the data from D drive to PSA automatically. Do i need to create 100 Info packages and need to include in the process chain. Please suggest.

Reason for duplicity of records in Direct Update DSO

Hello guys,

 

 

We have been facing an error in Process chain since a few days. Let me explain briefly about this. There is a PC with APD as a process step and its target is a Direct Update DSO. We are facing an issue with message 'Duplicate data records when writing data to DataStore object <DSO_Name>'.

 

We have identified the duplicate records by sorting the data with the primary keys of the DSO. And have manually deleted the interim results of this APD and then deleted the duplicate records by creating a temporary APD and added one Routine step just before DSO which will delete adjacent duplicates from the result set on the basis of DSO key fields.

 

Though I have went through many threads but not sure how to proceed about identification for cause of duplicity of records. Usually duplication is based on primary keys of DSO. As I have not used APD before, so was wondering how do we identify the cause?

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Rebuild statistics for Oracle after cube load

Hi.

 

I like to discuss what is the best option to rebuild statistics after deleting and loading a whole cube with Oracle 11g. There are some cubes that are build like this and there are some performance issues because of old statistics in my opinion. As I know with Oracle the rebuild should be triggered with BRTOOLS so could I use the process chain "Construct Database Statistics" directly after loading the cube or is there a best practice to trigger the rebuild instead of waiting for the next schedule of BRTOOLS.

 

I tried to rebuild the statistics from InfoCube administration with a performance gain, so I am sure that something could be optimized there.

Index Deletion not happening which results in DTP failed

Hi Guru's,

 

I am facing a strange problem in a cube which did not have a Partition or compression.

 

The Index deletion step is not deleting the Index of this cube on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday which result in DTP fails on these days and we are correcting this by deleting indexing manually and repeat the failed DTP in our process Chain.

 

Please suggest on this as we are not able to find any solution.
