Time stamp and user id in real time infocube.

Dear All,

 

 

Good Day..!

 

 

This is regarding Planning related in BW. Requesting you please provide your suggestions/inputs for the same.

 

 

I have created one real time infocube,Aggregation level for budget planning and created one workbook for users to enter/modify the records for Budget planning.

 

 

and now, my client is asking i want to see timestamp an user id for tracking purpose that who and when will done the respected changes.

 

 

Kindly please let me know, how to achieve this scenario.

Inventory data mismatch in BW

Hi Experts,

 

There is data mismatch between material stock in the transaction MB5B in ECC with that of in BW.

 

To  match the data do I need to perform setup table filling followed by “Repair Full” for 2LIS_03_UM and 2LIS_03_BF datasource or just 2LIS_03_BF is fine or intitilaization needs to be done again 2LIS_03_UX. Kindly clarify.

Table for condition value against tax code in sap

Dear Experts ,

 

I have to enhance condition data in Purchase data-source .

I have created FM based on KONV, EKKO, EKPO , which is giving condition type data.

 

But I want condition value data against tax code means If you open any purchase order in ME23n.

 

goto item details --> invoice tab --> click on Taxes   , then you will find condition type , amount and value.

 

I want to enhance that condition data in purchase data-source.

 

Could you please tell me table name for the same ?

Incomplete archiving session in BW - Archive run not finished: 000023-001BWREQARCH R-ARC:2014122

Hi All,

We have run archive write jobs for the object BWREQARCH and the generated files were placed in SAP Global directory.

22 files were written and deleted. However, the last file was only written to archive and the subsequent deletion job was not run.

 

Later Basis moved all the files to a new folder in BW. Now since the last archiving session has not been deleted we are not able to write new requests to archive. The system throws an error message

Archive run not finished: 000023-001BWREQARCH R-ARC:2014122.

 

To enable deletion of this archiving session I have tried the following-

  1. Restored the affected file to the Global directory
  2. Tried to run the delete job again and pick this file, but archive selection is empty
  3. Marked the archiving session as Invalid in Archive Management
  4. Tried to delete the archiving session using BC_ARCHIVE - but here too no archive gets selected.

 

Please advise what can be done to delete this archive file and go ahead with fresh archive jobs.

Data discrepancy for 0FI_GL12 datasource & BW data targets-Debit & Credit fields

Hi Guru's,

 

When we are extracting delta load from 0FI_GL_12, we are facing issues. The measure values for Debit in BW is not matching with Debit value in ECC. Credit value is matching. Please help me here.

 

Example:

Customer exit for cost center group based on cost center(user entry)???

Hi Gurus,

 

My requirement Is to display cost center group when the user keys in Cost center.

So i created a customer exit variable on cost center group.

This is the code in CMOD... though there is no error, it doesn't seem to work.

 

I have attached the file.

Cost center group variable- 'interval option'

Cost center variable- 'selection option'

BW 7.0 to 7.4 upgrade (Developers perspective)

Hello All,

 

I know this is a very age old topic, I have gone through some blogs etc. to understand the basic differences between Upgrade process (Technical and Functional upgrade)

 

I also note that the technical upgrade is more of a combination of Basis activity and developers activity.

 

Technical upgrade is a version upgrade say from 7.0 SP level to BW 7.4 SP9 (say)

 

In this case, I would like to know what checks (Pre-upgrade and post upgrade) a developer needs to look at.

 

There is a lot of Bespoke code in our system (how to make sure all the objects are migrated correctly). We are also looking at upgrading ECC to a different SP level. So what happens to all the Data sources (Enhanced and standard and Generic)

 

One thing is that if the Data source enhancement is done only like using ZZ<fieldname> while creating the include structure, then only it will be taken care by SAP while doing the upgrade.. I would like to know things like these...so that we can correct all such things (atleast maximum of such things) well in hand.

 

I have added some points here that I know, can you please add the missing points to the list...

 

Run report RDSR_PSA_NEWDS_MAPPING_CHECK to check all inconsistencies in Data sources after upgrade..

 

Regenerate all inconsistent BADI'S

 

Rreport ENHS_BADI_ANALYZE_GENERATE_ALL OR BADI_RSANALYZE

 

 

RSMDATASTATE INCONSISTENCIES CAN BE ANALYZED USING FM RSDDTREX_AFTER_UPGRADE*

 

To repair compounding Multiprovider run RSCOMPCONS

 

See several SAP Notes to check SAP standard checks / errors for resolution

 

 

Pre Upgrade:

1. Activate all the inactive objects in the system

2. Check the loading performance prior to upgrade.

3. Check reporting performance prior to upgrade.

 

Post Upgrade:

1. Do the functional testing of the reports. (To check if the reports are running as expected)

2. Check the loading performance after upgrade.

3. Check reporting performance after upgrade.

4. Check inactivated objects.

 

What other Cut-over activities that I need to look at. What happens to the Data in 7.0 before and after upgrade..Process Chains..etc.

 

I am thinking, we need to re-initialize all the Loads. (please explain in Detail).

 

How should I make use of new Info Providers like Composite Providers available in new system...

 

If we are running on HANA .. Do we need to re-write all the Data source code which is more HANA optimized like replacing simple selects with SQL Script select so that Push down operation is enabled ??

A Step gets struck once in a week even loads are successful inside

Dear All,

 

Am facing this issue from past couple of weeks.

A step (Source system to PSA) gets struck in one of the chains during Monitoring each time once in a week (Usually Fridays).

 

But Data load goes successful (Source system to PSA) ,But status remains yellow and we have to manually trigger the chains every time.

Am unable to rectify the error..as it loads successfully without getting struck on other days.It is not a daily error.

 

Can someone please help me in resolving this?

Adding New Field and populating the field based on other fields through ABAP Routine in a Cube.

Hi Experts,

 

I have a Info cube with 5 fields data records(customer no,date of order,material ordered,ordered quantity,delivered quantity) but i want to add a new field in the cube with missing quantity=ordered quantity-delivered quantity .I would like to populate this field based on(ordered quantity,delivered quantity) using ABAP.I have tried export data source concept but unable to map to the current scenario with it.Could you please help me how to overcome this issue.

I am getting a error message when trying to check the data in RSA3 for 0MM_PUR_PO_HDR datasource.

 

I tried looking at many postings about this but not able to resolve.

DTP Load Error After Upgrade to SP 73114

Hello,

 

We just recently upgrade our BW development system from 7.31 SP8 to 7.31 SP14.    We now have 2 DTPs failing with the below error.

 

Error in substep Extraction from DataSource

Message no. RSBK231

 

I have searched the forum and reviewed SAP notes and see no resolution that will work.

 

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Increasing Keyfigure length in Production System

Hi Experts,

 

I want to increase the length of a keyfigure (standard infoobject) from 3 to 5. The keyfigure is used in multiple targets of production system.

 

I am planning to change the domain associated with the keyfigure with a custom domain and change the entries in RSDKYF table.

 

But i am worried about the data which is  already loaded in data targets.I just want to keep the old data as such and load future data with required decimal places.

 

I am not in a position to think about reloading.

 

Please suggest the consequences of increasing the keyfigure length.Will it work perfectly if i transport the custom domain and the keyfigure to the production system.

ABAP Report in Process Chain Variant

Hello Experts,

 

We need to load data from a number of files. In order to process it sequentially, we have a archiving program which moves the file into the archive after it is loaded into BW. We achieve this archiving with an ABAP report in the Process chain variant.

Thus, we have a process chain(PC 1) calling another chain(PC2). PC1 calls PC2 and if PC2 is successful archives the file and calls PC2 again for the next file.

 

Issue: The ABAP report functions perfectly standalone(Dialog Processing) i.e When Executed manually after a successful load of PC2.But it does not archive the data when called from the process chain!

 

Do we need to maintain any settings in order to enable the report to be called during Background processing? Request your suggestions on this!

Data not displaying in the query and the cube

hi experts,

                    I have an issue  that is  Data not displaying in the query and the cube  .when I am trying to execute the query  in rsrt .it is not showing any data. when I  am try to see the data in cube through manage-display data then also I can't see any data. actually the requirement it is we get some reports for archaving ,but we are unable to see the data.Is there any other way to display data.we need some sample data to download but we are unable to see the data in the system.any suggestions would be appreciated .can you guys please tell how to show the data I have tired all the possible ways which I know is there any alternative through any tables or codes that I can see the data. I know this is basic question but still I was strucked with this its an urgent requirement.please help me.

What BW Roles to apply

Hi SCN,

 

Does someone know where I can find an updated list of BW Roles that needs to be applied for a SAP BW Account. We wanted to create an account where he/she only has access to BEX applications and doesn not have access to rsa1 (obviously we can do this is PCFG). Though, we wanted to be more secure thus configuring the correct role in BW.

 

SAP_NEW and SAP_BW_ALL is not working or are these roles obsolete? Maybe someone can also share the roles they use on their BW projects. It would really be a great help. Hoping to get roles for SAP BW 7.3 up.

BW RSECADMIN: Mass creation analysis authorizations based on hierarchy nodes

Hello,

 

Is it possible to perform a mass creation of analysis authorizations containing an infoObject with an hierarchy node as  value in RSECADMIN in BW version 7.1 or higher.

 

I have to create a large number of analysis authorizations, each containing an authorization relevant infoObject for profit ctr as a dimension. This Profit ctr dimension should contain an hierarchy authorization. During the definition steps of this hierarchy authorization a screen in which the hierarchy node needs to be selected pops up. In this screen the profit ctr hierarchy node needs to be selected from the hierarchy and dragged and dropped in the right part of the screen: 'Selected Hierarchy Nodes'.

 

If i have to do this manually for each analysis authorization it takes a lot of time. So my question is, is it possible to do a mass creation and how?

Can not add fields to DSO (write - optimized and a standard one)

Hello, everybody,

 

I am trying to add some info objects to a DSO in dev system , but I have the following error. I have never heard of high cardinality InfoObject.

 

ERROR:

 

"Only permitted InfoObjects (not contained InfoObjects) transferred

Message no. R7I316

Diagnosis

You are trying to add a set of InfoObjects to a dimension.

System Response

Some of the InfoObjects could not be added to the dimension. This might occur in one of the following cases:

  • Adding a high cardinality InfoObject. High cardinality InfoObjects cannot be used in InfoCubes, since SIDs are required when querying InfoCube data. As high cardinality InfoObjects do not have SIDs, you cannot use this InfoObject type in InfoCubes.
  • Adding a stock coverage key figure to to DataStore object: Stock coverage key figures are not supported by regular DataStore objects.

Procedure

If this InfoObject is really required in the InfoCube, go to the Remodeling Toolbox workbench (transaction RMSRT) and convert the InfoObject."

LO Extraction: DSO and Info Cube

I Using the Data source Name "0FI_AP_20". I want to find the Data Store Object for this Data Source name.

I tried to find it and i could not find the particular DSO and Info Cube...
