Hello Experts,
At our university we have a high demand from users to use the query F4 help display mode of D, "Only Values in InfoProvider". Currently, when they run an enrollment report the variable entry screen displays and requires that they enter a Module (Course). When clicking the box to bring up F4 help the user is presented with all the values in Module master data even if those values are not in the InfoProvider. This is both confusing for them and inefficient.
This query is built on an Infoset which contains a DSO which contains the Module InfoObject. The Module RSD1 settings are set to show D-Mode in F4. The Provider Specific Properties of Module in the DSO are set to default, which should be D-Mode. The setting in the Extended tab of Module in Query Designer is set to D-Mode. For some reason all of these setting are disregarded in the Infoset query. If I build a query directly on the DSO, the F4 help in the Module variable is in D-Mode as expected. However, the same Module variable in an Infoset query uses M-Mode.
A post in another thread (https://scn.sap.com/thread/2035065) states that the F4 setting only works on a basic InfoProvider such as a DSO or InfoCube and not on MultiProviders or Infoset. Is that true or is there a workaround? We are on BW 7.31 EHP6 SP9 but have had this issue for years.
Thanks,
Michael
