How to split a field into multiple fields in Generic Extractor

Hi BI gurus,

We have created a Generic Extractor based on Table view.

Tested in RSA3, data displayed just fine.

Then we replicated to BW (7.3), but when we try to activate the datasource in BW, the activation prompted error:-

Field QUESTION_ID ( Position 11 ): invalid data type STRG

We then check the Data Type, for QUESTION_ID, the data typeSTRING, which is not recognized by BW.

BW can only recognized CHAR etc.

So I guess to only option is to split the Question_ID into 5 fields with each Char(60).

But I am not sure how to split a fields into 5 fields in Extract Structure.

Or is there another way to do this?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
