Understanding size of BIA

Hi

We are noticing some inconsistencies with our BIA, and are concerned that we are using up too much space ... supposed to be using 50% of available memory as far as we can tell.

The trouble is, I am finding it quite confusing to see exactly how much space is actually used up.

In transaction TREXADMIN, under the Summary tab, I can see the following information:

1. Hosts - Memory 24% used (45.6GB used out of 188GB available)

2. Indexes - 220GB memory 310.25 GB on disk

In RSDDBIAMON transaction, if I activate the Load Monitor, I can see the load across the 4 blades:

BladeTotal MemoryMemory Available
Blade 1+-7 GB48 GB
Blade 2+-6 GB48 GB
Blade 3+-7 GB48 GB
Blade 4+-27 GB48 GB

How does the RSDDBIAMON load stats match up to what we see in TREXADMIN. I can see from the Load Monitor that the indexes are not equally spread across the blades, so we will run another REORG to try and split those indexes, but still, that usage seems to be well under the 50% of total space.

RSDDBIAMON is showing an error message for "BWA Server is Overloaded". I don't know if that is referring to Blade4 which is just over the 50% threshold, in which case a reorg that better distributes the indexes will sort the issue out, or if the true size is the 220GB of indexes as reported in TREXADMIN, in which case we need to unload almost everything, or more blades to up the available memory.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
