Generic datasource for time dependent hierarchy on 7.3

Hello Friends,

I was looking though lot of material on the internet for this topic, but could not find a proper answer.

Can anyone suggest if its possible to build a generic data source in ECC for time dependent master data hierarchy.

( Not from flat files)
